1900 La Centenaire

Planted 120 years ago to celebrate the marriage between Francoise Nadal and Therese Hainault, the vine producing Carignan grapes is the oldest vine on the Château Nadal estate. And it is still producing rich bunches of superb grapes to this day. 1900 La Centennaire scooped Gold at the Independent Wine Producers’ festival.

This full-bodied red from our outstanding 2016 vintage is 100 per cent Carignan grape and they have to be harvested by hand.

An infamously challenging grape variety to nurture and work with, Carignan repays the love, dedication, passion and commitment it demands with a wine that reflects the Mediterranean landscape where scents of thyme and rosemary linger in the air.

This if a mature, expressive wine, rich in tannins and luxurious. La Centenaire reflects the complexity of its environment – sun, soil, sea and season combined with its great age.

Team it with lamb, duck or beef. An astonishing wine that it worth the demands Carignan makes on the winemaker’s skills.

Ready to enjoy now or can be laid own for up to 15 years.
